In a previous blog I talked about how to protect your lower back from the strain the golf swing puts on it. A joint that suffers frequently when playing golf is the elbow. You need to protect it too by strengthening the muscles around it. If you get pain there are also excercises to help you recover. Definitely being in good health and with strong muscles help you enjoy the game more. During the off season I go to the gym more often than in the warmer months. After all there is no much to do outside unless you like winter sports. I take advantage of this period away from golf to prepare the muscles that will produce the golf swing, especially the lower body: hamstrings, hips, quadriceps. Also it helps guard the knees, which is another fragile joint. I will talk about it in my next blog.
